Fix Stuck at WiFi Setup

If you get stuck at the WiFi setup while setting up your BB10 device after a fresh autoloader, follow these steps:

  1. Start Initial Setup: Begin the setup yourself. When you reach the ‘Connecting to WiFi’ page, connect to a network.
  2. Close or Continue Initial Setup:
    • If possible, close the Initial Setup without completing it (swipe up & close), then wait for the notification requesting to complete it. Open the Initial Setup from the notification and proceed to the next step.
    • If it is not possible to close it, continue directly to step 3 after trying to connect to a WiFi network.
  3. Enable Screen Reader: On the ‘Connect to a Mobile Network’ page, press the power button three times quickly. The Screen Reader will appear (may take up to 10 minutes). If it doesn't appear, press the power button three times again.
  4. Activate Screen Reader: Double tap the screen with two fingers to activate it.
  5. Skip Mobile Network: While still on the ‘Connect to a Mobile Network’ page, tap the ‘Skip’ button once, then twice. You’ll move to the next page.
  6. Wait at Connecting to WiFi: On the next ‘Connecting to WiFi’ page, wait until the Screen Reader announces BBID instructions. When you hear “Skip,” double tap the screen immediately under the page title.
  7. Skip BBID: A pop-up will appear asking whether to skip BBID. Tap ‘Skip’ once, then twice.
  8. Troubleshooting Silent Reader: If the Screen Reader remains silent, check the ‘Troubleshooting’ section at the bottom of the guide.
  9. BBID Page: Press the power button three times quickly to turn off the Screen Reader, then tap ‘Skip’.
  10. Repeat Steps if Needed: Steps 8-10 may need repetition depending on your device and location to reach the ‘Software Update’ screen. Sometimes it appears immediately, so you can skip directly to step 12.
  11. WiFi Setup for Updates:
    • On the ‘Unable to connect’ page, tap ‘Settings’.
    • ‘Connecting to WiFi’ page appears again. Select a WiFi network, add the password, and press ‘Connect’.
    • After connecting, don’t select a network again—press ‘Next’. This should bring up the ‘Regional Update’ page. If redirected back, repeat steps 8-10 until the ‘Regional Update’ page stays.
  12. Regional Update: When the ‘Next’ button appears, tap it immediately to go to the ‘Software Update’ page.
  13. Software Update: Wait patiently. When text about unavailable BlackBerry services appears, do not press anything—just swipe left.
  14. Automatic Updates: Click ‘OK’ on the next page.
  15. Setup Complete: The ‘Setup is Complete’ message will appear. Swipe up to finish the initial setup. Congratulations!

Battery calibration guide for BB10

Blackberry 10 OS includes the Battery Stats function, which monitors the battery capacity. Sometimes it is "damaged" and the display of battery data does not correspond to reality, which leads to premature shutdown of the phone. Lithium-ion batteries are not calibrated in the full sense of the word

Method - 1

Method - 2

The "used" battery is subject to disposal and should not be resuscitated. Frequent manipulations to calibrate the battery adversely affect its service life. If calibration is required more than once every three months, then the calibration is not the problem.

BB10 Error Codes Guide

If you’ve ever encountered a BlackBerry BB10 error code, it can be confusing to figure out what went wrong and how to fix it. To help, we’ve compiled a complete list of error codes from 0001 to 0022, along with explanations and suggested solutions.

Common BB10 Error Codes and Solutions:

  1. 0001 – Unsupported OS version Your device is running an unsupported version of the OS. Solution: Reload the OS with a compatible version.
  2. 0002 – Unsupported OS version Same as above. Reload your OS to fix the issue.
  3. 0003 – Error loading the OS The OS failed to load properly. Solution: Reload the OS.
  4. 0004 – Unsupported radio software You may have installed the wrong radio software. Solution: Use the correct autoloader to install the right version, or reload the OS entirely.
  5. 0005 – Missing or invalid radio software Radio software is missing or corrupted. Solution: Install the correct radio software via autoloader or reload your OS.

BlackBerry 10 Not Turning On

If your BlackBerry 10 device suddenly stops responding and won’t turn on—showing no LED, no boot logo, and no signs of charging etc;

    Try the following :

  1. Check Charger and Cable: Ensure your charger and cable are working. If needed, try a different but compatible charger and cable.
  2. Force Restart: Hold Power + Vol Up + Vol Down for 15–20 seconds. Even if the screen stays black, just keep holding.
  3. Let it charge for a while: Leave it plugged in for 1–2 hours even if there’s zero LED. Deep-dead batteries randomly wake up.
  4. Try charging from a PC/laptop: Connect to a laptop/PC. Sometimes the slow, steady current helps the battery revive enough to boot.
  5. Check if it warms up: If it gets a little warm, that means it is taking charge. If it stays completely cold, it’s not getting any power.

If none of this works, the battery might have gone too weak and may need replacement.

Fix: Windows Can’t Detect Your BB10

If the PC doesn't respond (or an error occurs) to connecting the device, enable the "Enable SMB 1.0/CIFS file sharing Support" component (Main menu - Control Panel - Switch to Categories - Programs - Turn Windows features on or off).
